ORBIT OF OBEDIENCE
Orbit of Obedience
Polystyrene Ball, Acrylic Film, Wood, Motor, Fan, Fabric and Battery
2024
80 x 80 x 15 cm
A small ball levitates and endlessly returns to the same point within a transparent acrylic boundary—as if trapped in a cycle of effortless precision. Though it floats and moves, it never escapes its orbit. The illusion of freedom masks an underlying rigidity.
This work reflects the quiet violence of repetition and containment under invisible systems of control. It explores the friction between stability and instability, visibility and erasure, autonomy and submission. Orbit of Obedience is a meditation on the conditions of labour under surveillance—where even resistance becomes part of the circuit.
